Andrzej Sikora  (PhD Eng.) is a graduate of the faculty of Automatics and Electronics at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, participated in courses at the School of Banking in Vienna, and  at University of Southern California,  Jackson, Mississippi, USA (USID program)  Andrzej Sikora has also completed the STOREWARS course at INSEAD in France. Before joining PKN ORLEN he was a Director of the BGZ Bank’s branch in Tarnow and Head of Key Account Department in the Bank’s headquarters in Warsaw. Between 1997 and 2001 Andrzej Sikora served as Finance and Trade Vice-President and the Key Clients Director at Sokolow S.A., Poland’s leading food producer. In 2002 he joined PKN ORLEN, where he has been responsible for overall optimization of the Company’s production assets managed refining optimisation for 276000 barrel per day Plock refinery (9.5 Nelson Complexity Index).

Starting from 2005 he leads the Energy Studies Institute. As a CEO of he took part in several M&A and restructuring projects: technical and environmental due diligence of the chemical company in Romania for international advisory company (2012); acquisition of gas transmission operators in Central Europe – for Polish Transmission System Operator (2011); evaluation of possibility of investment in coal deposits and coal mines in Russia – for potential investor (Polish company – 2010).

He was an assistant professor at University of Science and Technology in Cracow Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas from 2012. He obtained a PhD degree in Oil & Gas Drilling in 2011. Currently, he is  a lecturer of finance and management of energy, oil and gas course at Warsaw School of Economics and University of Science and Technology in Cracow and a regular speaker in the European Parliament, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (Genèva, Lozanna, Warsaw) and moderator of sector conferences in Europe, the USA (2016) and Australia (2015).

An author or co-author of over 100 publications in Polish, English and Russian.
