Professional activities and work experience

Tadeusz Uhl was graduated as Master of Science in Automation in 1980 at University of Science and Technology AGH. He was promoted  as PhD at the same University at 1983. From 1984 he worked with teaching applied mechanics, theory of vibration, system identification, signal processing. At this period he participated in many industrial project related to noise and vibration, but latter related to robotics and mechatronics. But from 1986 till 1994 he work at many Universities world wide; France, The Netherlands, Belgium, USA and Japan as a researcher in area of mechatronics.

From 2001 till 2016, he has position of chair of Mechatronics and Robotics Department at the University of Science and Technology AGH, Krakow, Poland, managing research and teaching group of 24 researchers (three of them with long international job record) and teachers and about 56 PhD students (4 foreginers). During this time Department of Robotics and Mechatronics achieved high international level and excellent worldwide reputation. This is confirmed by invitation of professor Tadeusz Uhl as a chairman of international congress and conferences. He was a chairman of 4th European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring, Chairman of IMEKO Workshop on Smart Diagnostics, Chairmen of 4th Congress of Technical Diagnostics at 2012, he is chosen as a chairman of World Congress of IFToMM at 2019 (the biggest world conference on robotics, mechatronics and theory of machine and mechanism with approx.. 1000 participants).

He is a member Scientific Committee of many worldwide Conferences and Congress  like ISMA, ICEDYN, EW SHM,  IFToMM Congress, CMM, ROMOCO, ROMANSY, DPP, Dynamic Problems and Applications,  International Conference on Mechatronics from idea to applications, etc. He organized and was a chairman of 15 Polish Workshops on Mechatronics and 16 Polish workshops on Modal Analysis both conferences in Krakow with many international participants.

He is a supervisor of 51 defended PhD theses in area of structural dynamics, robotics, technical diagnostics and Structural Health Monitoring and 135 Master Thesis. He was a Member of High Level Group for Key Enabling Technologies in European Commission from 2013 – 2016. He was invited for lectures to domestic and international universities, many times.
